these are all great but I think I like the detail and black background in number one the best, makes me focus more on the grasshopper.
March 2nd, 2011
They are all quite good. Hard to say, but my original instinct was the first one.
March 2nd, 2011
thankyou both :) the first one was my original choice but then no.3 started catching my eye then no.2 hehe ! so i think ill stick with my original thought and upload no.1

thankyou ! @crappysailor @jobesekama

Wow! Great close ups. Now as you know I'm no expert but I'm drawn most to the 3rd one. There's humour in it as the bug (not sure what it is!) on the right looks as if he's looking towards the camera and the one on the left is ignoring it and just getting on with eating :o) It's only my opinion though xx

Wow!! They are all amazing but I agree, the 1st on with the black background, amazing shot!!!!!
March 2nd, 2011
@psychographer i liked the comedy way the one on the left had his foot on the other holding him up. kind of like lean on me mate hehe !
March 2nd, 2011
@flamez I'd not noticed that before. That's really funny :o)xx
March 2nd, 2011
I think I would pick the first one, more time to look at every detail. The other one is a bit funnier, but also distracting from the focus and details of the grashopper.
March 2nd, 2011
I would use number 1
March 2nd, 2011
number 1 for me!
March 2nd, 2011
The first one!
March 2nd, 2011
Both are fabulous but I'm more drawn to #1
March 2nd, 2011
Personally I'd go for #3 because it looks like there's an interesting conversation going on but I regularly decide that I should have posted a different shot! 1 is very dramatic.
March 2nd, 2011
I like no, 1...you can focus on the subject
March 2nd, 2011
I think 1 because it's very dramatic!
March 2nd, 2011
Definitely the first one, much more striking with dark background, draws your eye straight to the point of focus.
March 2nd, 2011
First one - I'm making eye contact with the locust - the detail and the composition are strong. Lime green and black contrast - nice!
March 2nd, 2011
I like Number 1
March 2nd, 2011
First for me as well. Like the strong stance captured, makes more of an impact. Great macro!
March 2nd, 2011
First one, the focus on it is more impressive
March 2nd, 2011
first one for me too :-)

wish you had left #2 up though; would have loved to have seen that one too
March 2nd, 2011
The first one. I like what appears to be the eyes on the back of the head. Makes it look very alien!!
March 2nd, 2011
Both good! Personally prefer number 3
March 2nd, 2011
I also vote for #1 since the composition is better and details are sharper
March 2nd, 2011
thankyou everyone ! detail wins over comedy factor :) will go with the first one :)
March 2nd, 2011
I was torn at first, but #1 is the best one for me, although I could think of a few fun captions for the second one since there are two of them!!
March 2nd, 2011
1--but I'm a freak for close-ups
March 2nd, 2011
number 1 is so way cool
March 2nd, 2011
didn't see #2, but I already commented on how much I like #1. It rocks!
March 2nd, 2011
I go for number 1. Great close up.
March 2nd, 2011
As a photo #1; as a photo with a caption #2, but you have to come up with a great one.
March 2nd, 2011
Both great and good for you on going out of your comfort zone! I like #3
March 2nd, 2011
#3! I LOVE how that one on the right is staring at ya! You take awesome macro shots, you should definitely do more of them! Fantastic!
March 2nd, 2011
I vote for #1 I like the color and detail.
March 2nd, 2011
B
Top photo definitely. It has focus and color. The other one is good, but seems a bit more busy and less of a focus on the beauty of the insect.
March 2nd, 2011
Welcome to the bug world!! Both are very good shots. But I would choose no.1 as it focusses on a single subject.
March 2nd, 2011
Yes, both good, but #3 for me. Looks like they are having a conversation!
