So I was reading an article about a lady who did a 365 photography project focused on gratitude and it's a beautiful project link
I feel intimidated by the idea of committing a whole year, but as I'm considering how to stretch myself I thought "why not a month?" For the month of June I will be photographing something I'm grateful for each day. I made a gratitude list to help if I get stuck. Though June is a two & a half weeks off, I'm excited. I think it will be rewarding in a lot of ways.
I know several of you did a month of self portraits in May. You all have done a beautiful job. Would anyone like to join me for a gratitude challenge in June?
That sounds like a great idea! I may try it. I'm currently working my way through an ABC challenge right now but I'll be done with it before June. Thanks for this idea!
@nikkers I'm looking forward to it. Even as life's been exciting lately, I've been struggling with the blue moods. I've found in the past that this sort of thing helps, though I've never done it with photography.
I don't know if I can do a month as the may selfie challenge is kicking my butt and I just want to have free range to take photos of whatever I want. I might do a week, though!
I think I'm crazy in love with this idea!
I want to join in as well. However, I think it'll become cumbersome for me at one point if I pressure myself too much - as I've done with this 365 project altogether. So, I'll be focusing on things I'm grateful for for the month of June, but I won't promise myself exactly 30 photos.
I'm really excited and I wish everyone else good luck!
Also, we should tag our photos Junegratitude or something like that. Yeah?
I love the idea and I might join, but I'm not sure yet.
I'm running the self portrait challenge now in a seperate album alongside my regular 365project and it's all becoming a bit much. A gratitude challenge would probably take less time (also in my mind) but I'd still want to do it as an extra and not in my regular album.
This may just get me picking my camera up EVERYDAY again, I think it's a wonderful challenge in many aspects ~ I'm in! The wheels are already turning!!
Love to do that, might need a reminder closer to the date, my soul is ginger but sometimes this damned menopause makes my brain very "blonde"! (No offense meant to any natural blondes reading this!!)
I just started my 365 Project doing exactly this!! I read the article and was inspired. So far I only have four shots, but really helped me to open my eyes and see the wonderful things in my life that I've been missing.
@becky_tamm thanks Becky :) I have been enjoying my grateful challenge and so far, it hasn't been too hard to find things to be thankful for each day!! :)
I will... I just uploaded my first picture today thinking about this theme. I think the idea is brilliant... and it would inded be very challenging to do it for the whole year... but I think I will upload at least one pic a month thinking about this theme. Do we have tags already for this theme?
I think I'm in as well. But this time I might do it in an extra folder not the main one, where I did my selfies. Hm, I'm already thinking ;). So "Jungegratitude" it is? I guess "June challenge gratitude" would be a bit long, even though it would fit together nicely with the tag of this month's challenge. Oh well, who needs continuity ;)?
@carrapeta00 Not sure what "rs" means? The Junegratitude tag will work in may. It's a search term that brings up any photos that are part of the challenge. You're just starting early, which is very cool. :)
June has 30 days. I commit to at least five pictures out of the 30 days of things I am grateful for. Not just my usual stop-click-upload but actually thought-out first :) I think I can get more, though.
I'm in . I'm up for the challenge. I have been reading many books on Buddha and positive thinking. This will go along with that ...something to see as well as read :) Life should be about simple pleasures not all these things we all have and want . I need to get away from the " wanting " and learn to be happy with what i have ......this could be really good for me - i'm super excited about it !
@jquinn When you are uploading your photo and it's the step to name it and write something, there is a box for tags. In that box you put " Junegratitude ". Then if anyone wants tp see the results of the challenge they can look it up by that keyword.
I will sure try....I have hit a brick wall lately and really struggle with my photographs. I have signed up for a photo shoot on Sunday and hope this will get my creative juices flowing....today I caught a bunny in the bush, so I have my shot for today....but it has been a struggle since I got back from Italy.
Huh, maybe I could do this with my Polaroid camera, and be legit :D I don't have enough film for 30 days though, by any means. Maybe I'll just do it until my film's gone. I like this plan.
I love this idea, count me in! Many years ago, when I had a spell of time off work with depression, a friend recommended starting a 'gratitude journal' - writing down 5 things at the end of the day that I was thankful for - and it really helped me to start to turn around how I saw and looked at the world. It is still a tool I turn to when I feel like I'm losing that 'attitiude of gratitude' perspective on life - could be interesting to do it with photographs!
@sarahhorsfall Thank you. I have to admit that I struggle with serious depression myself. It has helped in the past to focus on gratitude. It's not a cure-all but it helps.
I am 100% on board with this! I was looking for something to challenge and inspire me, and this is the ticket! I was initially going to do the "A-Z route" for June but what a much more amazing and powerful idea this is instead!
sounds goood. can get very creative with this one! I think Im going to do 2weeks selfies and 2weeks gratitude because I saw the selfie challenge too late. hehehe
@frontporchview Reminders will happen :)

@amyhughes The tag Junegratitude was suggested by @idonotsqueak That'll work, right?
@meggageg @sonialast @halkia @hdoyle @demetriceanntia It's great if you can do whatever you can. I like your ideas for adapting it to your own needs.
@becky_tamm @ceenkhoorn @dmrams @elizabeth Thanks for pointing out others who have done this. I will certainly take a look and be further inspired
@michellegaynor @frontporchview A reminder will come later in the month for those of us with unreliable memories :)

that´s how we laugh virtually in Brasil... rs rs rs...
Perfect ;)
Thanks a lot.

I'm grateful to you for sharing the idea :o)
