Wow, there were a lot of entries and so many of you did a great job of demonstrating how little changes in your settings can have a strong impact on the end result. It was not easy to whittle it down to 5.
For anyone that didn't participate in the challenge but likes to vote, the challenge rules were as follows:
"You will take 5 shots of the same thing. For the first shot, you will use your cameras monochrome settings without changing anything. For the second shot, you will increase the contrast to the max. For the third shot, you will turn contrast down as far as it will go. For the fourth shot, you can do whatever you want with the contrast, but you will increase the sharpness and use the red filter. For the fifth and final shot you will increase the contrast however much you like, turn sharpness all the way up, select no filters, and use the blue tone."
When I selected the finalists, In no way was I looking at subject or comp or dof or anything of the sort. I was looking for clear differences between the 5 shots. I was especially interested in the shot with the red filter. I eventually gave hints as the challenge progressed so that people would be sure to use a subject that would show the effect it has, and in the end, nearly everyone's tagged entry did just that.
Voting starts now and will end Wednesday evening 8pm EST when I will tally the votes and announce the winner. Without further ado, here are your 5 finalists, in no particular order:
This is hard. I just love number 3 but I think number 5 really shows the differences in the settings so will go with number 5. Great job from everyone.
