Ready for some fun, creativity and perhaps to learn something new? So what is a technique challenge? The host challenger selects a specific “technique” to try. It may be brand new for some, or just a challenge to be creative for others. Techniques may include high/low key, macro, portraits, landscapes, abstracts, the possibilities are endless. It could even be specific techniques in processing. The host will select a technique along with some links and examples.
Constructive & kind feedback is encouraged. Feel free to share tips, suggestions or how you were able to get the terrific photo you did. Posting your photo on this thread is encouraged but not required. The challenges will last about 7 days.
To post a photo on this thread:
1) Go to your page that has the photo you would like to post.
2) Find the code located toward the bottom right side of your page. The code is on the right side of the word "share".
Copy that code and paste it in this thread.
All photos must be taken within the challenge dates. Enter as many as you would like. Voting will last about 3 days. The winner will host a new challenge (or get someone else to host it). This week’s technique challenge is Zoom Burst. A zoom burst, or zoom blur, is a fantastic photographic effect which is simple, fun and easy to achieve. It involves zooming in or out while you take a photo, causing the shot to blur from the centre outwards, as if the scene is “bursting” towards you.

Here's two examples from my friend's album. From menope:
I wanted to do it selectively, but I'm not sure it really worked. The editing is a bit of a mess between the background shot (the "still" chess pieces) and the foreground (the "moving" pawn):
@sianipops love the pineapple man! I used a tripod this time round and found it easier than trying to do it handheld. Have also found bright solid colours seem to work best. That's just my personal view of course!
@salza I was using a tripod but in the morning brightness affected my settings. I also, just read about using flash to freeze subject - I may try that but only have on board flash. The fun is in the learning :)
@sianipops Mmm, I was doing things late afternoon and we do have a number of large trees in the garden, so maybe that helped with the light situation! I did also have the camera set to under expose a tad, by mistake (I must add!) as I'd not checked my settings properly before I began shooting!
This one is a combination of two zoom burst pics. One is a window in a dark room and the other one is my white dress. Edited the s**t out of it to double up for ETSOOI challenge with theme 'spooky'.
One more to add to this. Sorry to be such a pain and add so many to this challenge. I just want to say that I really enjoyed this challenge. I often do them and do not like any that I get. This time it was the opposite.

Thanks @taffy for hosting last challenge. You did great job!
It's a neat trick that's pretty easy to do with a bit of practice.
Here is one I took a month ago. 30 second exposure, zoomed after about 25 seconds.
A couple of attempts this morning, now should look at how to's so I can get subject /center more crisp (less central zoom)
