Let's do some Lensbaby and Freelensing

June 7th, 2015
Every now and then I do a shout out to do a month of Lensbaby's. If you don't have one Freelensing works. It is all about embracing the blur.

If you dont have a lensbaby you can try freelensing

Or make your own

Can't join until after 10 days of travel but have been thinking it's time to practice with my LB again. I recently was given a new gadget to add to my LB arsenal; the LB Scout. It's time to figure out how to have fun with this! ;)

This was yesterday's effort. I don't have a lensbaby, so free lensing it is for me :)

And here is today's effort.

I've been trying out freelensing over the past couple of months, and really like some of the effects I get with it:

If I were going to buy a Lensbaby to get similar effects without having to detach the lens, which one should I look at? I have a Canon dSLR if it makes a difference!

@lynbonn @whimsicalgrateful @whimsicalgrateful @sarahsthreads We are off to a great star!! Love it!

@sarahsthreads My friend does a ton of macro. She uses the sweet 35 with a macro converter.

First attempt. I used a nifty fifty. I definitely need more practice!
June 9th, 2015
I love my LB - will join in!
June 9th, 2015
@aprilmilani Thanks!

Here's today's freelensing attempt:

This is with a 24mm lens, I know you get different effects with longer focal lengths, I just never plan ahead and wind up using whatever's on my camera at the time!
June 9th, 2015
Hooray - will blow the dust of mine.
June 11th, 2015
I pulled out a longer zoom lens (35-80mm) to try freelensing today. I was considering selling this lens because I never use it, but...I kind of like the effects I was getting using a longer focal length! I'm still not quite understanding how you can hold a lens "several inches" away from the body (as per some of the articles I've read about freelensing) and still be able to see anything at all...?

@dmcoile @sarahsthreads @sarahsthreads These are wonderful!! Thank you for playing along. I love them all!!
