Songtitle #8 now open - June 26 to July 11

June 26th, 2016
Thanks to all who voted for my entry in Song Title #7 and to @summerfield for hosting it, and all the other fine entries. I am proud and happy to accept the invititation to host #8 which runs from today, June 26, 2016, through midnight Monday, July 11, 2016, EDT New York/Toronto. All images must have been taken and posted within this time frame.

Tag your photos songtitle-8.

Rules remain as before, to take a picture that could be appropriately titled with the title of a song, but I am adding a personal request for entries in #8 to reflect the 1940s era, the many great names that ruled those years and the songs that they made evergreen. You will all have your favourites, still played and enjoyed although out of living memory for many, so let's hear them, and if you are posting a song that might have dropped off the radar and can't be found on You Tube, please also remind us of the lyrics

The following songs are officially retired and cannot be used:
All you need is love - Beatles
You can leave your hat on - Joe Cocker
Oñ the road again - Wllie Nelson
Walk this Way - Aerosmith / RunDMC
Sweet dreams are made of this - Eurthymics
We're Gonna Get Married - Randy Newman
Walk on By - Dionne Warwick / Burt Bacharach

So get humming, go out and take a picture to suit your earworm, and who knows, you might win and get the chance to host the next challenge.

Enjoy and have fun!

"A Tree in the Meadow" is a popular song. It was written by Billy Reid, and the song was published in 1948.

A photo just to help out Arthur - @wordpixman - with the songtitle-8 competition, he could use a few more entries to consider if you care to take a look. Let's see if we can give him some more to take a look at for the competition, it is open until 11 July. Good luck!

Thank you @brett101 ... I eventually found 10 missing entries, just where @northy kindly told me to look. I don't know where it all went wrong, but am now trying to copy them to this page for judging, so it looks like I have a lot of copying to do and hope everybody will be patient with me. I'll do my best anyway and try not to disappoint.

@wordpixman hi Arthur, you don't have to put all 10 for voting... you could narrow it down to 4 or 5 of the ones you prefer... i think a number of us submitted more than one shot, and you don't really need to have more than one entry per photog in the finalists for voting (at least, that's the approach i would take... others may have different ideas - so don't feel you have to do what i suggest!)...

generally you would set up a new thread just for voting, rather than include the voting in this thread... otherwise people won't know to look at the thread to vote... you could set up the thread along the lines of this one:

@northy ... Thank you. That was my mistake. Not having done it before I assumed there was an app that handled it!
