52 Week Challenge: Week 15 / Apr 9th – Composition: Rule of Space

April 8th, 2018
Hi all,

Tomorrow, Monday April 9th begins Week 15 of the 52 Week Challenge, and the theme for the week is:

Composition: Rule of Space
Your subject should be facing the frame, walking into the frame, this keeps your subject "in" the frame and engaging with it. Give your subject room to move.

About the Composition category:
Composition refers to the way the various elements in a scene are arranged within the frame. Challenges will focus on setting up the shot and developing our personal composition styles; styles which can become our trademark. Developing your composition will allow you to set the stage to generate a reaction from your audience.

@m2016 By frame, do you think they mean the picture itself? or something else, like a doorway?

@francoise Not entirely sure... I'm interpreting it to maybe mean that your subject is centred or placed with the space around them creating the 'frame' as such? Of course I could be way off :P
