Just curious . . . what is considered “cold” there? We just came back from Erie, Pennsylvania, where it was 12 degrees and my husband was complaining about how cold he was last week when it was 35 in Virginia. After a week with the high being 16 and strong winds every day, I wasn’t wearing a coat when I got back to the “balmy “ 35 degree weather!
@wiesnerbeth I grew up in New Jersey, but have lived here for over 40 years. In Louisiana average highs during the winter is low 60's, average lows in the 40's. So temperatures in the 30's are considered cold. It is humid so cold feels colder. We get freezes at night every winter, but usually for just a couple of days in a row. Snow is rare and doesn't last. But this winter seems to be breaking all records! We had several nights in the low 20's, but I feel silly complaining when it is so much colder up North.
@eudora I grew up in Erie and when I’m there I think nothing of going out in 5 feet of snow with temperatures in the teens, but in Virginia, where I’ve lived for 25+ years, if there’s an inch of snow, I’m inside in my jammies. drinking hot cocoa and eating grilled cheese sandwiches. So I’m with you! I know what you mean about the humidity. When it’s 40 degrees here it’s worse than temperatures in the 20s because it’s so damp. Keep warm!
