This spider has been living in this plant for ages. It keeps getting bigger and has progressed from white to more and more purple. I think that is amazing. His dead bee dinner is stashed in the flower behind him.
You have some very cool and interesting shots in your project Evalie. I'm not a big fan of bugs, especially when they are in my house, but your images make them look quite interesting. I'm going to look forward to seeing your project continue. :)
@novab Thank you for your comments on my project and the follow. The whole bug thing happened mostly by happenstance. I got a new macro lens to take photographs of the jewelry I make. I have been taking more photographs than making jewelry so needed something on which to practice...which is where the bugs came in. Things snowballed because finding the next interesting thing in the bug world around me is a bit addictive. I don't want them in my house either. :)
You amaze me with these wonderful shots of our natural word! You may be the only person I know that can comment on the life over time of a spider in one's garden. Really cool.
@oconeebell@cherrymartina Thank you both for your lovely comments on this photograph. Flower, the only reason I can comment on its relative age, is I have been trying to get good photographs of it since last summer. It was quite small then. When I kept seeing it on the same plant throughout the summer/winter, I looked up information on them and found that in temperate climates like ours, they can live over a year. It will be interesting to see what the year brings.
