My mom makes room boxes. They are amazing creations in which she fashions a miniature moment in time by hand and /or repurposing the things that you and I would never imagine could be used in such a manner. Many years ago, she made a room box titled "Cobwebs and Mice". It is an attic room with all of the things one might find in an attic: Stacks of cardboard boxes, old bird cages, broken chairs, canning jars, old trunks and tattered floral arrangements. She had wee mice scampering in and around the shelves and the old doll house and a pair of faded long johns hanging from the door. And, of course, throughout, there is a generous helping of cobwebs. Don't ask me how she convinced the spiders to do that! I had a very perplexed housekeeper when I told him that I didn't want him to dust the little house. :)
One day, when I was dusting AROUND the little house, I looked in, and there amongst all of the normal mom-made things was this tiny little car belonging to our youngest son. When I asked him about it, he said, "It needed to be there." And there it has stayed for 16 years.
@cottiac When I am in the US this summer, I will try to get photos of my Grandma's and my aunts' room boxes. They are even better than this one. She said she is re-vamping her massive dollhouse, so I will try to get photos of it also.
