Last night the sun was beautiful as it was going behind this cloud bank. Of course, I was in the midst of carrying birds from the aviary into the house which necessitates two trips as we have only one carrier. But I hurried and got out just in time for this photo. I love the colors and the way the horizon is split into thirds. I wish I had had enough time to get rid of the palm fronds in front of me. I couldn't scoot over, or there would have been a telephone pole in the image.
that is a very special sunset capture. shame about those palms - they would be quite difficult to edit out. But the beautiful effect is still there, and as you say the thirds of sea, sky and cloud work really well.
