St Edmunds Chapel by fbailey

St Edmunds Chapel

Thanks so much to everyone who commented on Chapel Door the day before yesterday. Having computer problems today so took a few pictures of this tiny chapel this afternoon on my phone to show how very small the complete chapel is in comparison to the surrounding buildings.
What a lovely little chapel full of character.

This is great in showing the scale of the chapel and how the town has changed around it. I tend not to notice that as I drive by.

It looks like a piece of history squashed in amongst normal and usually unattractive buildings! Nice to see the whole chapel and know that it is for everyone!

It is wonderful that this piece of history has been preserved.
Just wondering if it served the cemetery, where the cemetery got to? Was it built over or in another area?

Cute! Thank you for putting together this collage to show us the full view. I went back to look at the door first before truly looking at this photo (glad you mentioned it!).

So quaint! It's a shame the other buildings are so close!

I love the contrast of the old and new, and that this well preserved church is still open for services. That is so neat.

Good grief FB - this is truly amazing. what an incredible age - and still being used. How fantastic. And I like how you have shown it in context - how the world has changed around it.

@littleconnie That's a good question Connie but I don't know the answer. From the amount of nearby buildings I suspect it's been built over.
