My Get Pushed challenge this week came from Annie, who suggested I look at last week's challenges and choose one I liked the look of. I very much admired the infrared image Wendy @farmreporter produced but I failed miserably in reproducing anything as good. So my second choice was the challenge title 'Unseen'.
@annied Hi Annie, this is my attempt at your challenge. The plaque is taken from the Memorial Wall at the Battle of Britain site at Capel-le-Ferne, as is the statue of the young airman gazing out across the Channel at sunset this evening. I hope you like it, Felicity
This is beautifully done FB. - very poignant. But that is a shame about the infra-red experiment! I had a bit of a look at a video of how to do it - but it was way too complicated for me. The images are really fascinating though - but it seems the easiest way to get them is actually have an IR camera. And that seems a bit extreme... Do you think you'll have another go?
@robz Oooh I haven't given up Rob, I wasted about three days this week unsuccessfully faffing about. I'm just not very good with layers and the channel mixer continues to defeat me. PSE 11 hasn't got one, so I had to download a free trial to play around in. I've always loved infrared but thought you had to have the right equipment for it. The cheap way to do it is to get an IR filter, and mine should be here next week from the camera shop ... sadly they still need quite a bit of tweaking in Photoshop to get the results but hey, we shall see:)
@fbailey Ripper - the IR filter sounds like a grand idea!! At least that will get the basic effect happening so hopefully then it should be easy enough to just "tweak" - I have great faith in you!! So, as you say - we'll see. Looking forward to seeing too! :)
@fbailey I love this for the challenge - a great choice after your troubles with infrared
a beautifully emotive image,
you're doing better than me - I have not had a chance to play with water this week - was hoping for some rain to get reflections - that didn't happen - although it is raining now but very dismal hahaha - and I wanted to try the water crowns but have been super busy - will keep the challenge at hand to try when I can,
I love this shot - so very poignant! Your timing at sunset is so very appropriate for this shot ... makes it even more sombre.
I could not get the channel mixer working either - so I will be picking up a IR filter tomorrow to see how that goes.
Good to know about this memorial!
