My Get Pushed challenge this week came from Laura who asked me to produce light trails. I didn't want to do car trails as it's been very miserable this week outdoors so I thought I'd try something a little different. This is such a failure.
I was attempting to do a spirograph but the above picture is the only one out of a heck of a lot that dldn't give me an instant headache to look at. So much harder than I thought! One of my dogs found a small rubber tyre on the beach a few months back, probably from a kiddies' tricycle, so I brought it home with this sort of thing in mind. I went out and bought a very cheap set of battery operated Christmas lights, wound them around the tyre, and then suspended the tyre from the ceiling light using a dog lead. Dogs definitely have their uses! I positioned the camera directly underneath where I hoped the lights would appear, turned them on, rotated the tyre and pressed the shutter. Light trails of a sort I guess, but definitely not a spirograph!
@la_photographic Hi Laura, here's my feeble response to your challenge, not what I had intended at all, but I've zapped two camera batteries now so will have to call it a night. Felicity
I love reading your description about the lengths you went to to get this. It is always so interesting to know the backstory. I guess this isn't what you wanted, but I do like it so 'failure' seems the wrong description to me.
We did one for our photo club but used an old broom handle instead. It worked really well!
I was aiming to copy JackieR who did a terrific one in October but am having trouble adding the link for some reason.
