Wowow - working on white-on-white. Definitely too much of hue; I think I need to add more light and adjust wb. Another version in main album after some post tweeking on Picassa
@phil_howcroft Thanks, Phil. I've only been using Picasa and haven't found an option for choosing a white point...I'll have to look into this and I keep telling myself that I will get into more sophisticated processing....
I find that you need two opposing textures to have a really successful white on white. I would call this particular shot more high key than WoW.
But, it is such fun to experiment!
It's like what I did with my pearls on the wool sweater. Or perhaps your light bulb on paper towel that has a bit of texture or design. Or, how about a white china plate with cauliflower on it.
And, then, don't forget that there are so many shades of white - from the cool whites to the warm whites. You could put the two of them together and it would still be white on white - just different shades of white but enough of a difference to make it interesting.
And, as Francoise told me, you need some shadow otherwise it is just a flat pane of white.
