This is Cleveleys a small seaside town between Blackpool & Fleetwood. I called here after the dentist yesterday to go to M&S Food, I wanted to buy something tasty for my tea instead of soup, rice pudding & other invalid food. Marks & Spencers have a very good range of different tempting stuff & I definitely wanted tasty !!
Cleveleys High street was very busy as you can see & the recession does not seemed to have affected the town at all. Not one empty shop as far as I could tell but it does help I think that they are mostly what you would call low end shops catering for every day things..food, electricals, bargain clothes shops & funnily enough jewellers with what seems like amazing bargain diamond rings in the window & they are diamond not zircon!!!
It had turned into a lovely sunny day by this time...a late summer bonus !! The sea front is at the far end of this photo.
great picture Pat, my grandparents retired to Blackpool and I always remember my Grandma used to rave about Cleveleys !! In all the years I visited them in (probably 20 years), I never made it to Cleveleys or Fleetwood (yesterday's picture). My memories of Blackpool all seem to be around the south shore !!! Hey this is a long reply to a picture of a street I've never been to !!!
Lots of hustle and bustle for a small little town! Looks like a lovely afternoon! Mark's and Spencers pulled out of Canada a long time ago. I remember going in there and buying choc covered Digestives with my Mum.
What a fantastic and fun shot! Love seeing people out enjoying such a beautiful day...and in such a charming setting! Cleveleys looks like a delightful town. I hope you found something perfectly delicious at M&S Foods. :)
