Well I did it !!!
The final photo, how this year has flown by! I might be standing here with my balloon & glass of fizz but I can't say it has been hard work & no great feat of endurance !! I have enjoyed every minute of this project chronicling a diary of my daily life which is what I set out to do,
Thank you to all 365ers... through you I have learnt the meaning of DOF, POV, Bokeh etc all of which I knew nothing about when I started out.
I have learnt that not every piece of the photo has to be razor sharp or in focus. Sometimes a glimpse or angle of a building can be better than the whole or even a letter box shot can be amazing ( I can see @ phil_howcroft nodding !)
On top of all that a BIG thank you to all the people following me & I apologise if I haven't always commented on your photos as much as I should have . It is so difficult sometimes to keep up with every one & specially if I am not following them which is sometimes the case.
To every one who regularly comment on my offerings, you know who you are, the biggest thank you of all & I feel over the year we have become friends ! I love to see your life styles in different places.
I intend to carry on but will have three weeks break from mid February till 7th \March although I might be tempted if I get chance to upload a photo, not always easy in the'' wip wops'' of NZ.
In my view you cannot claim to have seen anything until you have photographed it !
Emile Zola.
Congratulations Mum, I have been waiting! Wanted to be the first to say well done on your 365 diary. I too have enjoyed your daily chronicle, with our busy lives it's been lovely to have a quick peek of what you have been up to if we haven't had chance to speak!!! Your photography has come on sooooo much and even Jack regularly compliments you on your capture. I am proud of you xxxx
Well Pat, it's been fun foillowing you, and I have enjoyed the time as well. It is a great site, and there are so many neat people on here that seem to be old time friends. Good luck, and I was glad to hear you will be continuing.
First of all, how beautiful you are, Pat. Both inside and out! Your photos have inspired me and your comments have given me the much needed support to keep on going. Thank goodness you'll be coming back . . enjoy NZ and remember that we will be waiting for your safe return. Congratulations . . you're a winner! :)
Well done Pat. It's been great fun for me here in Shanghai to see a daily glimpse of life back in my beloved Lancashire. We move back to Oxford in a few weeks' time, but will be in Lancaster for my sister's birthday in April. I can't wait.
CONGRATULATIONS!
It is a great feeling to have come through a whole year of sharing in this fantastic project and your final photo is just lovely!
It's so nice to follow friends through a year whether close by or further away, and like you say it is an amazing community. It really shows what mutual encouragement does for little bursts of talent and creativity, if we carry it forward and share it with others it grows and grows!
Hope you have a fabulous time in NZ and enjoy watching Max explore his little life while you are with them............and the bigger ones too!
LOL XX
@sarah19 Mum has quite inspired me but I'm not sure whether I could rise to the challenge of finding a photo every day - there would be just too many foot-related ones, hehe! Maybe one day though, thanks :)
Congratulations! It's been such a joy getting to know you. And many thanks for all your fun and positive comments on my photos... much appreciated. I'm pleased to see that Harry got in on the act - can I spy him on the balloon?!! Looking forward to shots of Kiwiland!
Congratulations, Pat. It's been lovely following your year through your photos and you should be proud of the accomplishment. You make light of it, but we all know at times it can be a bit of an endurance test. You show clearly that you have an active and a happy life in your retirement (or semi retirement?), and also a lovely home with dear family, and friends both near far. Thank you also for your kindness on commenting on my efforts throughout the year. Good to hear that you will be continuing after a well deserved break. My project will be ending in the next week. I'm not far off that 365th photo either. :)
Congratulations Pat! I have really enjoyed your project, sharing your life in Lancashire. Thank you for all your encouragement, today I reached the half way mark! This is a lovely picture of you.
Blimey Pat that was a near thing - I've been out freezing all afternoon watching hockey and I've got rubbish photos so I thought I'd have a night off 365 to watch rugby with a glass of beer. As the rugby's a bit boring I've been browsing so luckily I haven't missed your 365th picture!! It's been a pleasure and a privilege getting to know you and your beautiful kitchen and family and animals (not necessarily in order of priority!) And my heart is in Lancashire so it's lovely to see a bit of home as well. I have some silent followers who also look in on 'happypat' as well so we have a chat about Henry or Max or Booths!! It's great to hear you're carrying on - love your 365th photo and I'm switching to G & T in your honour!!
Well done on completing the task. Glad to read that you're carrying on with 365, it would be good to think that you can scale down the commitment, but that's so difficult without feeling that you're ignoring people. It shares that particular feature with pregnancy; you can't be just a bit of a 365-er !
I do think your finishing shot is particularly good.
Well done Pat, you made it. It has been great seeing scenes and views of your part of the country over the last year, also an insite into B&B and your lovely 'homely' home. Congratulations.
WHOOP WHOOP! Congratualtions Pat! (I'll check for typos tonight!!) INdeed you did it and well worthy of a glass of fizz and balloons and a big old party! Glad to hear you'll be continuing. It's been great following you and sharing your daily activities, and I appreciate all your comments on my site too! Have a great time in NZ and we look forward to seeing you in a few weeks. When the weather gets better I'll drop in for that cuppa too!
Pat well done on completing your 365...oh and thanks for the mention in your 'write up' of your final pic :) .....I enjoyed following you, I enjoyed your pictures...I really liked it when you did a glimpse of Blackpool, because those shots always brought back memories of my youth and visiting my grandparents :)
I said I'd pop back to see your final picture....I think it's really nice when 365'ers do a selfie on the final pic (I copied Judith;s style in mine @judithg) as you can see the happiness (and relief in my case !!!) for completing.
A great final picture Pat. Well done , I hope the fizz was dry and bubbly (I was going to say as sweet as your smile), but fizz just has to be dry !!!
@mrsfeet Thank you Cathy for your lovely words & I know all my family have kept tabs on me here & in NZ & it has been good to know you have been able to share in our lives a bit through this project. Jack has been a great help too in answering my queries re camera settings etc, it has helped a great deal that we have the same make !! Love to you all ! XXX
@karenann Well what can I say Karen about your lovely words, they are quite moving & nearly brought tear to my eye !! You have always said lovely things in your comments & are the best replier to any comment I know !! Thank you !!!
@twiddlepin Well I never knew you were a Lancashire lad Robin!! Thank you for your insight into Shanghai & China it has been most interesting. Thank you for your regular & kind comments & safe trip home in the next few weeks ! Lancashire is waiting for you !
@sarah19 Lovely words Sallie & to you the biggest thanks of all for introducing this wonderful project to me !! If it hadn't been for your beech photos I would have missed it all !! Thank you X
@jmj Hi Jennifer, you too have been a faithful commenter who I can't remember ever missing commenting I really appreciate that. Love to hear & see your beautiful photos from your special part of the world.
@sabresun Your sense of humour Matt & funny quirky pictures have made me smile many times...your family of wood creatures is a story all it's own & your imagination can run riot !!! Thank you for all the encouragement over the last few months & I hope you carry on too when your project comes to it's finish !! At least we won't have to do one every day if we are stuck for ideas !
@louisefrance Thank you Louise for your follow & comments, I don't know how you find the time when you are working & I admire you greatly being so organised !!
@judithg Well Judith , what to say,
I have so enjoyed your follow & looking at your wonderful photos !! I have felt a real kinship with you having both been educated in Preston & it was amazing to find out you had been to the RIVAL school..hilarious !!! Thank you so much for your 365 friendship & your fun & friendly comments !
@ellida You are right Graham & I think the commenting bit has been the hardest to do & why I have tried to not follow too many as I do like to comment as often as possible on the ones I follow. Thank you for your kind comments on my photos & I enjoy your travels around the world !
@islawight Hi Isla not going until the 15th February so you will see me tomorrow !! Thanks for all your comments & I have enjoyed watching your very sociable life in London !!
@redrucksack Thank you Eva for your kind words, I know I am not following you so appreciate them even more ! I will probably add you to my following list as I feel I will have a bit more time now not as committed to every day !
@sparkle You would be so welcome for a cuppa any time you are passing in that busy, busy life you lead Juliette !! I have learnt such a lot from your photos which are wonderful so many thanks for that but also for taking the time to comment on mine !!
@phil_howcroft Well Phil I'll let you into a secret ..the fizz was ginger beer !!! Too early to open the wine & not really a fan of drinking wine on my own anyway but it looked good hey !!! We Northerners have to stick together & I include Judith in that, I know she pines for some hills sometimes !! I have so enjoyed your comments & teaching
me about 'letter box'' & contre jour'' , your wonderful street scenes & the nitty gritty of life in Arnold a place I had never heard of before!! I will look forward to seeing you & Ruby again on 365. x
OH Pat , this is a perfect photo ! @judithg Forgot to say how I have enjoyed Mont'y's contribution to this project Judith & also thank your silent followers too for their kind thoughts &'' bottoms up'' !!! xx
@jquinn Thank you so much Janet & I have loved seeing photos of your lovely family which I can tell are the apple of your eye !! One reason alone to carry on would be to see the end result of your exciting new house !! Thank you for all your lovely comments!
Congratulations Pat - it's a HUGE achievement. I am really pleased to have become friends through this project. This photo is so lovely - you look gorgeous. What a fabulous and fitting final photo (read that back - lots of effeses LOL - PS I love the re runs of Green Acres. Lisa always gets her "effeses and her wubbleyous" mixed up) Thrilled to know that you're staying on. I would have been shattered if you closed up shop. I hope that you get to post while you are in NZ. That's a place I have always wanted to visit - so I might be able to do it through your lovely photos. Enjoy the break - and a big hug through cyber space. xoxo
@murnane Oh thank you so much Marg for your friendship over this last year & I have enjoyed it so much. Your comments & interest have been wonderful & I have so enjoyed seeing your world in Australia..where else would we have been able to do this ? Thank you for the cyber hug & I am sending one back to you with love !x

Dear Pat, I had not seen this yesterday but glad I didn't miss it completely so I can congratulate you on your accomplishment and wish you a lovely break in NZ with your family. I will so miss you if you were not here anymore so I'm happy to know you plan on staying on. I truly enjoy your photos and stories because they are always infused with warmth, humor and heart. I love the glimpse we get through your photos of life in your corner of the world. You look fantastic in this picture and I truly hope we can meet in person one day and become lifelong friends. Big hug, Monica.

@meisen325 Lovely words Monica & I have been so touched by all that has been said on here & would not have missed this for the worlds !!! I Sometimes I tell people I am doing this project & I know some of them think it's nothing & they aren't interested but they truly don't know the friendship & community that is on this site !! I love your photos of NY & hope to see many more !! Thank you.
Well done Mum! We have all loved looking at your photos, especially the ones of around and about 'home'. It's been lovely to keep up with the local sights. Congratulations from us all. x x x x x
Hi Pat!! Congratulations on finishing your project! I'm sorry I missed you on the day....but I found this shot on PP and jumped right on the computer to give you a virtual hug!! What a way to go out!

Congrats Pat... I haven't seen you photos before, however that doesn't matter... what matters is that you've had fun doing this project.
I've been doing 365 Project for the last 2 years... this year being my 3rd year. And just at the beginning of this month, I've started up a blog of photos that didn't make it here or on Facebook; just for the fun of it called 'What Eye See'... it's a great way to journal photos for yourself and for fun. Here's the url if you're all curious (and I only just started it the other day, so there's nobody following me yet). http://whatmyartistseyesees.blogspot.com.au/
Congrats again... and you know, you can always start a blog like I have if you've still got the photography bug and want to keep going with it. :D
@peggysirk Wow Peggy thank you so much for those lovely words & would say my greatest pleasure has been getting to know all my lovely friends on this project !! It has been very uplifting & for any one a wee bit lonely I think would be life saver !!! Yes off to NZ on the 15th for 3 weeks to see the family & Max. Probably won't post much while I am there as too much to do & I also aim to have a bit of a break but will definitely be taking photos. Harry not going with me this time but we have just booked to go with our daughter & family for Christmas & New Year .
