I went to take a photo of Harry rolling but he had just finished . Instead this is a photo of our nephew Graham & his son...young Harry who is sitting in the tractor cab with his dad.
The field has had muck spread on it & they are just knocking up the lumps ready for ploughing.
You can see the dust flying ....really good weather for working the land.
If you have time to view large you can see the snow on the hills!
Three good things:
1. I have left a note for the milkman as he keeps leaving Lorena's milk on our doorstep, hopefully he will deliver to the right place in the morning!
2. I have spent a bit of time this morning deleting photos I don't want & trying to get some order into my computer files......hopefully it will be a little quicker!!
3.The unwanted jacket has come & gone!!!!! £5.56 to send it back...that will teach me!!!
Lovely Landscape shot --we plough the fields & scatter Or rather -"we muck the fields - - - - -! Love your capture of the trail of dust . I know the feeling of returning clothing and vowing each time I have to pay these ridiculous return prices that its the last time !! .............will we ever learn !!
@fueast You might have passed me!!!!!! We used to live at the foot of Beacon Fell at Inglewhite. We farmed there for years until we moved to our present place 14 years ago. Small world!!
It does not look much like spring with all the snow on the hills the crpps are all going to be very late. I must delete some of my photographs I have acquired so many doing 365.
A lovely scene Pat. Surprising to see the dust, tho I noticed this morning that the ground in our chicken run is really dry at the moment. So nice not to be wading through mud.
@fueast@happypat My uncle lives in Much Hoole is that near where you are talking about?
@fueast Ha, I thought I recognised the name Longton. Haven't been up there for years but it is a lovely part of the world. Did you have a batty art teacher? If so it was probably my aunt.
i do not want to view large but thank you for the invitation...........more snow than i care to see!!! but I think we in the sunny south...as well as you lot are promised sun sometime tomorrow! Glorious sight I love your working farm shots!
@fannyb Thank you Fanny...I gather you are fed up with snow!!!!! We are still looking at it's beauty from afar & yes we have a little sun but bitterly cold still. Have been looking at the silly young women at Aintree walking around with bare arms & more....do they not realise they do sell very pretty & smart jackets & coats nowadays!!!!
A busy farm scene is good to see. Pity about the coat but if you don't want it why pay for it, we see young people here wearing ridiculous clothing for the weather but it is generally to show off their tattoos!
Yes - I have to fork out £2.95 for my Boden return... What annoys me more is when the kids order stuff and I have to pay to return it - and there are loads of shops in Cambridge where they could try things on! Lovely spot to work the land - glad the fields are fit to use again - young Harry definitely has farming in his genes!
Back again after another lapse...Great shot of the most ancient of work I have been doing the same in miniature on my allotment toiling like a medieval peasant in the snow...out of choice!
Beautiful landscape, Pat. Love the dust rising and the background is gorgeous. I hate when I have to pay for return shipping but then I justify the fuel I have saved by not driving to the store.
