Our Whitechapel Wanderers walk today & so I left the decorating & went on the walk which was round the villages of Wray & Hornby.
The weather was a little murky & I was disappointed in my photos. I had the camera on auto so was surprised to find them quite dark ...I have had to brighten them considerably. I thought the auto setting would automatically changed the ISO. The ones where I have taken village scenes are perfect though.
Six of us turned out today & it was a lovely day....about five miles walked some of it over very boggy ground!
I have been so busy the last couple of days I have been slacking with the commenting so please forgive meet & thank you for still commenting on mine regardless!
Three good things:
1. Good company combined with lovely scenery & good exercise!
2. Picnic lunch tastes so much better outside!
3. Unlike some mothers my M&S flowers were delivered on time!
It would be hard to keep me inside if I had this stunning countryside to wander. Simply beautiful!! And I love your three good things. Hope you had a delightful Mother's Day, Pat!
@anazad511@quietpurplehaze I quite liked the walkers kept to the left too.....I have some photos of just the countryside but I always like a photo with a proper person in it!
@judithg It rained a bit halfway round Judith so,it was a little dark but it didn't bother us.......I will post a photo of the conditions along part of the route.
A lovely rolling country side I agree with you it is nice to have some figures as it gives the scene an extra interest and a sense proportion and size !
The Great British Walking Brigade! When my mother came to live in England with her second husband, she had never walked so much in her life! Must admit this looks inviting and not too steep!
Your place looks lovely too Pat. We've been here 16 years. We can get very busy but I'm cutting down quite a bit now. I do enjoy doing B&B but I want to spend more time with family, especially grandchildren (we have 5) I'm trying to get the balance right.
A lot of my photos are taken in the garden.
@susiemc You do right Sue, family time is precious. If we didn't do B&B b we would have to move from here eventually. Too big for us , we have half let out permanently to really nice couple but the cost of insurance etc is massive. I don't let B&B rule my life now if I'm away I'm away? Off to NY next week & Harry has a couple in all week, they booked tonight but he is willing so they can come!
Lovely view Pat. Less dramatic than the higher fells but it has a beauty of it's own.
I do so envy you going to NY. My daughter and I went and came home exhausted but had a wonderful time. We managed to pack so much in to a few days. I would love to spend longer there as there is so much to see and do.
@thistle I am really looking forward to it Joyce! Is there anything you saw that you would specially recommend other than the usual attractions of course? We have four days like you....think that will be enough to start! We have booked for a show...didn't want to waste time queueing at the kiosk but just trying to see a good broad picture of NY but we love the quirky bits....China town etc. hope it's not too cold!
@happypat So much Pat. We went in December and the top of the Empire State building was very cold and windy but we did it! If you email me your address I've got a good dvd I can pop in the post. jl.lancaster@me.com should find me. The 9/11 memorial was still in the nearby church went we went.I think it is now in a purpose built building. it was very tastefully done and very moving.
@pinkpaintpot Thank you Linda.
