I have been to a funeral today in Knott End.
Right on the tip of the River Wyre estuary you have to hop on the ferry to Fleetwood if you want to get to the other side.
My friend whose mums funeral it was today was brought up in Knott End, she passed her Eleven pus to go to Fleetwood Grammer School but was seasick on the ferry crossing so couldn't hack it & had to go to the secondary modern as they were called in those days on the Knott End side.
Three good things:
1. A lovely funeral for a lady in her nineties.
2. The vicar was in the early stages of Chicken Pox but still gave a great service.
3. Our daughter & son in law celebrate their Silver Wedding today.
A rather poignant set of photos you posted - one of a funeral and another of a wedding.
They emphasize the ebb and flo of life - and how precious each stage is.
A lovely shot perfectly framed by the sign post. You keenly experienced the passing of time yesterday, Pat, with a silver anniversary and a funeral. Tempus fugit...so, carpe diem!
And be careful of a shingles outbreak when associating with those with chicken pox!!! :(
@peggysirk ha ha Peggy I never thought of that! A 92 year old passing on was not an occasion for too many tears thank goodness, sadness yes but she had grown weary & was ready. Yes I back off the vicar! Funnily enough I have had the odd pain in my head again today so hope it's not flaring up again! I feel OK though.
Good shot, including the two lighthouses.
