We have been looking at trees this afternoon.
Our SIL & daughter have chosen to have a tree each for Christmas this year.
Lots of varieties so it’s hard to choose.
Three good things:
1. Have done a bit of Christmas shopping for a couple of friends. Definitely going to shop local for everything this year!
2. We are loving watching the birds in the garden. We have splashed out on a bigger tray ground feeder...can’t wait to see all the different birds visiting in the morning...it’s entertainment on its own...our big windows are a terrific vantage point.
3. Harry found his favourite chocolate bar at the large garden vegetable shop. We thought they might have stopped making it.
Beautiful leaves. I love the idea of a tree for Christmas. Seems so significant instead of some of the 'luxury/unnecessary' items we've given/received in recent years!
Not meaning to be ungrateful but......😊
Such lovely variegated leaves ,and a beautiful idea to bye a tree this year - I haven't all the details -- but I read something about - the year of a tree with Prince Charles involved , and our council will donate a tree to any individual who will plant a tree in their garden -- with a choice of different categories of trees suitable for the size of the garden , and groups / businesses can have up to three trees . So you are in the swing og things Pat . So pleased you are enjoying bird watching from your large windows - so entertaining !
@beryl I saw a bit if it on Countryfile on Sunday...well Prince Charles was speaking.they are hoping to plant a large number of trees & you can go on a website & enter the number of trees you plant...we planted over 45 trees over the last ten years so are really into tree planting. When we get this garden fixed we will look at the tree situation & might plant a few more. Must look up the scheme you have mentioned here Beryl, thank you!
Pays to look at how high a tree will grow. This one as you have researched, Pat grows to 9 metres and 3 metres wide. You have to have the space. Too big for our garden but the foliage is really beautiful!
Not meaning to be ungrateful but......😊
I love getting tree's as a pressie. So much more meaning.
