Change and transformation

I have just started noticing one or two butterflies out and about. This one was in the graveyard this morning where I visited my Mum's grave for the first time since her death at the start of January.

The butterfly - a symbol of change and transformation. Mum had physical disability throughout her life and was unable to walk for about the last 10 years. It is my prayer that she is now clothed in bright array and free to move without the encumbrance of her physical body as it was. How delightful that would be.

Anyway, it was lovely to visit and place some fresh flowers and think of Mum, and it was reassuring to find Dad coping so well and able to get out and about and pursue his interests. for the first time in years. We had a good week-end together.
Absolutely beautiful image, Helen! Such wonderful colors! Fav! I'm glad you had a good weekend with your Dad. I'm sure your prayer has been answered and your Mum is moving about as freely as this beautiful butterfly. :-)

Beautiful photo and such gorgeous colours. So glad that you and your Dad were able to have a good time together. I am sure your Mum will be watching over you and as free as this butterfly now.

First of all, so sorry to hear you have so recently lost your mum.....very sad. How lovely you can spend time at the graveyard and capture some serene and beautiful pictures. A peaceful place. The butterfly is lovely.

The colours are so fantastic Helen, especially that tiny bit of blue on the butterfly's wind echoing the blue of the grape hyacinth. So sorry to hear of your recent loss but hope this moment brought some comfort on your visit to the graveyard.

@flowerfairyann Thank you Ann for your comment. It was lovely to visit whilst the sun was shining as it was pouring with rain as Mum was buried.

love the colour contrast - I think it may be a sign that your mum is flitting around unencumbered
