I drove through Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire today to get to a spa rendezvous where I met with two friends formed in the days of preparation for child birth - nearly some 25 years back. The roads were lined with an amazing display of colour in the bright sunshine and it seemed criminal to be spending the day indoors, but such was the arrangement.
Between us, over the years the three of us have shared and supported each other through - difficult parenting, disability, medical scares, marriage breakdown, bereavement, financial bankrupcy, adolescent challenges and much more. We have spent many shared family times together. Friendships are such a blessing. Cameras, you understand, were not allowed in the spa facilities.
BUT.....I had to sneak out at the end of the day and grab a peep at Anglesey Abbey as we were so close by and I was itching to get out and walk - and snap a few pictures. As it happened, the photography wasn't too productive and the best I have to offer is my view from the other side of the fence and through the leaves looking into the grounds of Anglesey Abbey. I will return.
Lovely use of lighting. And what a great way to spend time with longtime friends. I'm just returning from a similar get together with friends since of almost 40 years. Nothing like it!
Lovely colours. Friendships are so important. Being a Forces wife and never really living near family for most of my married life, I have been so grateful to have found super friends along the way.
It sounds like the most wonderful day. Yes, the friends who we share our saddest & happiest of times with are true friends, whether we see them once a week, a month or a year. A lovely photo that represents the changing seasons of your friendships.
Such a lovely capture, Helen! Always so wonderful to spend time with longtime friends.
I wanted to let you know that I did buy a small container of Marmite yesterday and tried it, sparingly, on toast. I can't say I absolutely loved it initially but I will definitely try it again. :-)
