Of course when you look at a rainbow, you rarely see distinct bands of exact colours but a blend across the spectrum. Of all the colours, indigo is the one that I am least confident about defining. This mallard, from most angles, would appear to have an entirely green head, but a full range of blues, indigos and violets are there for the taking. So, do pick your own indigo - I'm sure yours is in there somewhere.
Feeling virtuous - I have been back to the gym today ( I did ask the instructor if anyone had ever had a heart attack during his session before, at one point); walked into town for a few things and back, tested out a humus recipe as I have great volumes to make for a Quiz night next weekend, made some shortbread keys (long story), and have indigo sorted for today. Now for my final session of card making before giving it a rest for a while as the fund raising target will be reached after our Quiz next weekend.
Wow! Absolutely love this image . . . the colors, that wonderful eye, POV, composition! Love it all! I also love shortbread so would love to hear that long story. :-)
What a wonderful image for the colour! I struggle with this shade too - and in fact have nothing for today, so will need to wait until tomorrow in the hope indigo appears somewhere!
Love these colours. I have a pair of glass handcrafted earrings I bought last year with similar colours. If the ducks eye weren't open I would not of known what it was.
Thank you everyone. Your enthusiasm for this shot has really cheered me. It is a long time since I have produced such a popular image. They come when you least expect it!
