I am delighted to report that after yesterdays fiasco, I threw caution to the wind and just let my creative mind take over instead of getting obsessed with settings.
Having said that, I did make an effort to take a number of my shots by varying shutter speed, ISO and f stop and actually looking at the difference these made before deleting the ones I didn't like (which is where I usually fall down). I found that as far as taking reflections on the river was concerned, there was a considerable difference - but not always a predictable one - probably because of movement in the water.
So, whilst I can not detail the whys and wherefores of the settings that worked here, at least I know that it is worth having a play to see what comes out best!
By the way, apart from removing (mostly) the saturation, increasing the contrast, oh and rotating by 180 degrees, this is just as it was taken
Thank you so much for all of your kindness and encouragement on my project which never ceases to amaze me. And for the many of you who went over to my old blog to take a read - I am truly humbled.
This is captivating! I find myself just looking and looking and looking —love it! I also love your commentaries, which provide a very interesting insight into your creative process!
