Ruddy Darter by helenhall

Ruddy Darter

I stuck my neck out and labelled this as a common darter dragonfly - but Rosie tells me it is a Ruddy Darter, so I stand corrected. It allowed me to come up right close with my lens but I wasn't able to see that I had cut the tips of its wings off. Despite this, I still think it is the best image I got of this fellow as he settled on top of the fence post.
Great shot Fav

A fabulous close up and details. Don't you just hate it when some parts are cut off? I seem to have a natural talent to do that :)

Superb macro Helen. Who is to say that you must include all of it? It only matters if you intended to do so... that is either to only you or to no-one! If anyone criticised it (i haven't checked) then he/she is a probably a member of a camera club!! OOPS!:-)
