108 - St Leonard's Hospital, in the Museum Gardens in York, was the largest medieval hospital in England and cared for the infirm and ill of the city. It also fed the poor, and the condemned, providing meals for the prisoners in York Castle.
Only the undercroft remains, and this is it's south-western wall, highlighted by yesterdays bright afternoon sun
Thank you Brian. The remains of this building are fascinating, but they are in a hidden corner of the Museum Gardens, and most people simply walk past them, which is rather sad.
Thank you Louise. Until quite recently it was used to store quite a few Roman stone coffins, but these have now been moved and made into features in the garden. I really must go and look at the interior now it's been cleared.
Thank you Caren, and thank you for the fav! We are very fortunate in York to have a lot of fantastic old buildings, or remains of buildings. I've shown some earlier in my project, and more will follow. As for the sun, who knows? Here one day and gone the next! lol
Thank you Lydia - there will be more to come, but interspersed with other stuff too.
Thank you for looking, and thank you for the fav. Please feel free to pin it
ok, thank you
Thank you Marie - my favourite bit was the blue sky - but it's gone again and we are back to grey!

Thank you Cindy - York has lots of fascinating old buildings, and I feel really privileged to be able to share some of them on 365.
