Grand Tour 2012 by if1

Grand Tour 2012

109 - As part of this year's York 800 celebration, and to advertise York as a science city, a collection of large illustrations are displayed on the walls of numerous buildings around the city centre. There are 60 pictures, and a trail leaflet is available from the Tourist Information Centre to help you follow them.

Each illustration shows a scientific idea that has been originated or developed by individuals from York or organisations based in the area. The main frame here is the development of flight and the work of Sir George Cayley, and the rest are some of the more attractive illustrations.

Thank you Junan, the tour is quite fascinating. I have been capturing the illustrations as I've found them rather than following the formal trail, but when I have half a day to spare I will have fun doing it all. Depending on what I find, there may be more collages later!
