244 - A third shot of the In Another Light lighting competition at the Railway Museum.
Here we have the largest and heaviest locomotive in the museum's collection. Built in 1935 at Vulcan Foundry, Newton-le-Willows, Lancashire, for export to China, this Chinese Government Railways KF7 class 4-8-4 No 607 was withdrawn from service in 1981 and given as a gift to the museum by the Chinese government.
The story of it's transfer back to the UK and it's installation in the museum is a fascinating story. It now resides in the main hall.
