With a spring in my step, I headed for the crocuses. I thought I'd make a wee bouquet for my women's group Zoom call. I'd hold up the pretty purple bunch with its awesome pops of opulent orange to offer the ladies a bit of cheer, but disappointment met me just around the bend. The purple petals pointed skyward, forming puffy pouches on stems like balloons on strings. No orange anywhere. I knelt down with scissors and a water-filled vase — the old one just perfect for wee bouquets — and wondered if crocuses open once cut. Do they ever! Before I snipped the last, the first's petals pushed open like magic. Cheer, indeed!
I got to thinking. Had I just gone out and found blooming crocuses, I would have missed the joy of watching one blossom after another bloom before my very eyes — and doesn't this wee experience mirror the larger life? How disappointments turn to joy in ways we never could have imagined?
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
— Ephesians 3:20
What a wonderful experience - now if there were just some crocuses around here to try that with - would love to watch them open. I never miss reading to the end your thoughtful narratives and carry their thoughts all day. Thank you.
@milaniet Thank you, Milanie, for your touching comment. I very much appreciate your support of my project. When making my pictures, I love to think of the Lord and His infinite goodness. He reveals His love in so many ways!
