Scilla by janetb

Scilla

I don’t recall ever meeting Scilla before. She showed up in my latest bulb garden, and I’m happy she did. From wispy, arching stems, her dainty blossoms nod at thick, strappy leaves; and the contrast strikes my fancy. Right now, she basks in this afternoon’s golden glow; but my 105mm lens and I spent some time with her this morning when cool gray wintry light intensified her beautiful blue — heavenly blue like that of bluebird only better because it doesn’t fly away. Nearby, the African violets and Thanksgiving cactus bloom — again! — and the way I see it, spending unhurried time in the company of these treasured friends trumps anything on my to do list.
Beautiful capture
