Thank you, Lord, for my tiny, heart-shaped piece of sea glass.
I love my pretty bowl of sea glass setting atop a beautiful book written about these “treasures of the tide.” Mike and I collected most of our sea glass on the island of Turks and Caicos one magical afternoon last year.
I never knew I had a heart. On a recent, particularly challenging day, I really needed a lift. I began to pray, seeking God in the challenge. I needed to feel the peace only He can give and the comfort of His presence. That’s when I saw it in the bowl lying atop a frosty, white chunk where its unmistakable shape could not be ignored. Why had I never seen the heart before? He answers our prayers — even sometimes with sea glass. There are no coincidences.
This week's 52-Week Challenge is:
Photographer's Choice (Capture an image on your terms: who, what, where, when, why, how…it's all up to you. Caveat: you must tell us your intent.) My intent was to capture a pretty picture of my special, heart-shaped piece of green sea glass. It's just 3/8" tall! I was thrilled to find that the heart would stand upright when leaned on its one side, and the sunlight coming in the window cooperated by illuminating the heart from behind. I wanted some texture other than the wood of the tabletop beneath the heart, so I grabbed a bag of salted caramel sugar — the room smelled divine! :)
Also, I tagged this for the macro-glass challenge.
I’m back to look at this again and would Fav it again if I could! Using the salted caramel sugar in the sunlight is magical and the light through the sea glass makes it bright and perfect.
