Thank you, Lord, for the American Robin incubating her eggs on the downspout — my companion while scrubbing the upper porch rocking chairs.

Something about this downspout appeals to Robins. More years than not, they build nests here and successfully fledge their young. Last year, the house got a fresh coat of paint and the downspouts and gutters got a good cleaning; but we knew it wouldn't be long before a Robin smudged up this little nook with a muddy nest!

Wow, how cool is that. Excellent capture and it must be so interesting to see the little ones grow and leave the nest.
