With friends coming over in just a few hours, I drove down toward the mailbox with a glass of water and a pair of scissors to gather a bunch of the happy wild daisies that I'd been admiring all week. Once back in the kitchen, I stripped the stems of their lower leaves and popped the daisies into a water-filled mason jar. Onto the kitchen island they went where they could give our dear friends a bright, warm welcome!
I praise you, Lord, for friends coming over — and daisies growing wild.
they look so pretty and perfect in your kitchen here. You inspired me to take a jar and pick some wild flowers from the lawn at the weekend. We left them to attract the bees, but without a lot of success. So I brought a few in to enjoy - following your example.
@helenhall Thank you for your sweet comment! How kind of you to tell me of your wildflower picking...I hope your flowers brought you much joy! I can often be found in the garden snipping some fresh blooms for indoors...a simple bunch lifts the spirit high! :)
