When asked what Christmas cookie he'd like me to bake for him, John always chooses oatmeal raisin. "But they aren't Christmas cookies," I tell him every year. I should know by now that I won't change his mind, so into the oven they go — with love! (And yes, John, I'll always remember that you prefer them without icing.)
