Leaves dangling and dancing in a gentle breeze display a certain joy, don't they? Not when you give them just a passing glance but when you really watch their every move. When the breeze stops, they hang like beautiful ornaments carefully placed in all the right spots. While most trees stand leafless here in the middle of winter, some of the Japanese Maple leaves still hang on; and that's a gift worth pausing to truly appreciate.
I praise you, Lord, for the leaves on the Japanese Maples in the middle of winter when the sight of them delights in so many ways.
Some of our Oak trees have leaves that do the same. To me they are a gauge as to whether or not Spring has truly arrived. They only fall off when the new leaves are starting to emerge. This is a lovely shot with all that sunlight in the background.
