A New — Unexpected — Favorite

Baking brings comfort to life; and I love everything about it, especially the happy faces of loved ones that result from my efforts. The unexpected flavor of Kosher salt in these cookies made eyes light up with surprise, which quickly turned into the happy faces I love. All agree — a new favorite!

Chocolate Chip Cookies (makes 48)

1/2 lb. butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
2-1/2 cups flour
1 tbsp. Kosher salt
1 tbsp. baking soda
1-3/4 cups chocolate chips

Whip softened butter until smooth. Add sugars and whip until light and fluffy. Mix in eggs and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, stir together flour, salt and baking soda. Add to wet mixture and mix just until combined.

Gently mix in chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto cookie sheet.

Bake in 350° standard oven or 325° convection oven for 8-10 minutes.

I praise you, Lord, for the joy of baking — and a unique new chocolate chip cookie recipe to love!
