There is actually a sweet story here...this California Brown Pelican was rescued and after healing was deemed unsafe to reintroduce into the wild because of broken wing. He has a fabulous habitat outside the aquarium and is free to leave the viewing area whenever he wants. They exercise his body and brain with treats and training. What a contrast to the miserable animals I saw recently at Wildlife Safari in Bandon.
