Best on black. Sorry to be behind in commenting. I've been gone and also supporting a friend whose mom just died. I took this on Tuesday night when we had the fist decent sunset for about a month. We are back to heavy overcast and rain now. I loved Black Pearl watching the sunset! We've had extremely high tide that has brought big logs onto the beaches and here at the outlet.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
I love this shot. It's beautifully shot and composed. How long did your dog have to hold that pose for until you got the shot so perfect? (Don't worry. You can tell me. I won't tell PETA.)
@mbrutus lol! I was shooting the sunset while Jim and Pearl wandered around the Driftwood. When I saw her climb on that particular log, I was ready though I would have had my shutter speed faster and ISO up if I’d known she was coming.
@jgpittenger - Well, I would say it worked out just great as it is. I have read a camera book or magazine where it suggested one always walk around with the camera set to "Automatic" so that if one happened to stumble upon a great potential shot automatically, they could always get some sort of shot of it, without fear of losing the moment while setting the camera. But, as I've grown more serious about photography and upgraded my equipment, I find that not all cameras have an automatic setting. And I do find that occasionally I do miss the ease and convenience of it. By the way, I've just noticed that I neglected to "Fav" this shot my last time here, but I've corrected that oversight now.
