This week's assignment for my mentoring group is artificial light black and white. I had some ideas for shots I would have taken outside but am feeling puny so I had to find something less strenuous. Taken with macro lens, circle flash and off camera flash. I am totally a novice in the artificial light department. I chose the strong sepia toning in silver efex because somehow orchids feel kind of like antiques to me.
Thanks so much for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
@taffy@newbank@888rachel@golftragic@pamknowler Having glanced at some of your artificial light black and white images and seen how creative and powerful they are, I feel a bit out of my league. But here is a great opportunity for learning re artificial lighting especially since someone has asked me to take photos for her and her family for Christmas cards. Yikes! Wish I had more energy for trying something more exciting.
This is beautiful Jane!! The petals have taken on a metallic look which I love. I think this week's theme will challenge us all. I have been playing most of the afternoon - all very much hit and miss at the moment. I need to read the manual on the flash gun!!
This is really effective! The sepia works so well, and the lighting casts no shadows but brings out all kinds of details. I'm struggling with this challenge -- keep putting it off.
Oh, so lovely, and the sepia matches the orchid so well. I thought 'metallic' looking when I first saw it, and see that Pam has said that too. Hope you are feeling better soon!
