I was going to post a photo from our security camera of a woman brazenly stealing the box we have by our house for neighbours to place donations for the Community Fridge (luckily not including any donations) but instead I am going with the lovely blanket my neighbour has made for me. I gave her quite a bit of leftover wool because she makes blankets for Wood Green animal rescue - and she made a blanket for me! It’s lovely and cosy - perfect for cool evenings in the garden. I’m touched and honoured.
Weather: warmer - much more April appropriate!
Covid: a mini surge in Cambridge - at least I hope it’s mini.
Good thing: we’re edging towards a decision on the car. Most people are givers not takers.
Hurrah. For every rotter there's someone nice. Why would someone steal an empty box? Why would someone steal from a charity? You wonder how they think.
Well the perfect title...that certainly is give & take....how could you sleep at night....never mind what goes around comes around!
Something hand made like your rug is priceless Judith....that poor woman who steels has nothing like that in her life obviously!
A very well crafted balnket. It's more tricky than you might think making the squares perfectly square. What a shame about 'take' - lets imagine she was destitute and hoping for some food!
@busylady well she’s welcome to come to the community fridge for some food - she looked pleased with her bounty. I felt guilty walking up people’s drives to drop off leaflets about collecting food let alone brazenly taking something!
@fueast@happypat well I’m hoping the poster which is now on our lamp post alerts people to the fact that they’ll be caught on camera. I’m amazed we haven’t had parcels stolen.
Oh, how awesome. It confirms what I believe to be true...that there are far more good people than bad in the world. This blanket is lovely!
I do hope your surge is a mini. There have been several hot spots recently in the US. Hoping vaccinations will keep things under control. We're at the halfway point - 50% of adults have received at least one dose.
Such a beautiful blanket. I love how it was made using leftover yarn, which then makes your blanket one of a kind. Enjoy using it during the cold nights.
Yes, better to post positive images these days. But I can imagine why you thought to post the other. Very frustrating that people can do such things. :-(
