Hard at it

None of those wallpapers have made the cut! We’ve been persuaded by the young creative types to stick to ‘Skimming Stone’ on all the walls except those which will form the backs of two cupboards which will be painted in ‘Rangwali’ (dark pink). I’d really like the Farrow and Ball wallpaper that’s just to the left of Nigel but I think in the interests of longevity in the room a painted wall is probably a sensible option. Plus there will be artwork….

Weather: really nice on the one weekend we are inside
Covid: not a bad idea to stay away from town till cases drop a bit
Good thing: the ceiling just needed touching up after the first coat.
What fun to redo a room. I love the bottom wallpaper nearest Nigel. But sometimes painting is a safe way to decorate. Then you can add color with artwork, curtains, pillows, rugs etc. which are easier to change than repainting or changing out wallpaper. Good luck with this.

I hope you'll share the finished result! I'm intrigued. :-)

I too like the one on the bottom to the left of Nigel but paint is much better for all sorts of reasons

So many choices! We have normally opted for thick lining paper and then painted it after battles with wallpaper!

I love having a blank canvas (no wallpaper) and add the interest with artwork, fabrics, rugs, etc. Whatever you decide, I know you'll have a fabulous end result!

Having spent days on end stripping other people’s wallpapers, I agree, painting is the way to go!
