A slow start to the day in which the young folk realised a short break to Europe is really not worth the hassle at the moment but then they rallied and we went to the Botanic Gardens which always has something impressive to look at, & the greenhouses are warm and open again. Here they are carrying on while I wield my camera….
They look as if they are having a good time. We planned to travel to RHode Island and Maryland to visit two of our kids and their families but decided the risk is too high right now
@bkp verbena bonariensis - it’s become really popular here and gets very tall which is useful in a border - they self seed so move about- I’m hoping that it’s found some spots it likes in my garden! I’ve also bought Verbena bampton this year which is much shorter and I really love it. I don’t know what the orange one is - I’ll have a look next time. The borders in this part of the garden are showcasing different varieties of the same species so they’ll be labelled.
@peggysirk exactly - it’s just that Adam is desperate for some sunshine so that he can ‘remember that he doesn’t like the heat!’ It’s very handy that the young people like plants - they are excited that we’re taking them to Chelsea Flower Show!
@jgpittenger it’s all getting quite tedious but fine if we’re happy to potter about locally. Really hoping our daughter & her girlfriend can get here from Canada in December though.
The most beautiful screening…I must look for that flower as we have bare empty places to fill, lots of them! It’s a hassle finding the sun….hope Rachel & partner can come over, it seems so long since you saw them.
