Cycle city

Obviously the same location as yesterday's shot but quite a different effect. I like the lady cycling up (wish I'd got her closer but a pedestrian scuppered me from behind!) but I'm not sure if there's too much of an empty space on the right. Opinions welcome!
I think perhaps a bit over weighted to the left what with size, focus. Wonder what it would have looked like if you had been able to get the rider in focus. Might have balanced it differently. Nevertheless a shot that catches my eye.

I like the angle and the PoV. The composition with the near, riding, and parked bicycles make for an interesting shot. Nicely done.

The bright colours on the lady cycling towards you really draw the eye into the picture. Another wonderful photo of cycle city Judith

I like this shot but I agree with Jane about it being a bit heavy on the left.

May be a little heavy but I think the space is needed on the right to balance it out....the rider would get lost if there wasn't space to view her, if that makes any sense.

More of the road ahead in this shot & I know what Jane means but only a split second out ! Love the red scarf which shows up so well !

Is that really your bike that you take places to pose for shots?

I loke the angle, the light and the way the picture draws you in to see the rider in the background. It works for me

A perfect Cambridge shot. Love the POV.

I love Cambridge, I used to work in Ely in science, but before that I was a cycle mechanic for 5 years so love bikes too :)

There is something about those bikes, something comforting perhaps in the mould of black cabs and london buses...ooohhh and yes nice picky

@fueast I've got a fleet...

I love the angle, perfect for catching the cyclist in the background!

@neeko Well I photograph a lot of bikes!! Hard not to in Cambridge!

judith, if the lady cycling up was nearer she'd be going out of the frame....what a difference a day makes for a composition:)...super shot

I think it works well with her being there, gives a sense of movement and realism to the shot. Great angle and composition.

I like the composition. My eye was first drawn to the basket, then to the color of the scarf of the lady riding, even being out of focus, and then to the bank of parked bikes, and then back down to the lamp on the bike. Works for me!!!

It works for me as well. I agree with Barbara - my eye travels just as she describes so I think that means the composition works!
