As Monty had behaved very well walking around town I let him off lead on Lammas Land for a bit of 'hooping'. This proved rapidly to be a mistake as he kept taking it into the stream which was recently dredged, has acquired some interesting algal bloom (probably as it gets contaminated by cow poo) and smells to high heaven. I navigated very unstable-looking muddy islands to get it back, working out how I was going to save my camera if everything went wrong and then left it one throw too many to put his lead back on because he shot off to look at the sheep across the river and dropped it in the water good and proper. Some desperate barking and handy stick-work later it was retrieved, all was well and we were back in the car in time to hear poor old Andy lose to Djokovich.
I love the look on Monty's face - he looks like he's having a great time! Sorry to hear that Andy lost - I always root for him, but he never really can seem to make to the finals.
I expect you both had smelly feet when you had finished that walk !!! Monty must have had a ball making you run hither & thither, the monkey !!! Love this expression on his face, looks like he is thinking 'come on mum, can you get it this time!' Yes poor old Andy, there was only a whisker between them , would think it will Nadals win now unless Djokovich can recover very quickly !
Oh he is giving you the look...I just dare you to come after me! Years ago we had a dog that the only way we could get her to come if she was off her leash was for me to fall down and look like I might be hurt.then she'd come running. Love this shot.
@happypat Yes - Nadal has definitely got more time to rest - Andy's getting closer though.... @jgpittenger That's very cute though not exactly convenient!!
Is he mid-woof trying to tell you to hurry up and retrieve his hoop?!?! Bold fellow! I don't envy your navigating through that stuff!! Well done to get the hoop AND save the camera AND get a nice shot! Hope you had boots on.
@bpaquette He certainly was - you wouldn't have allowed it Barbara!! Very naughty behaviour indeed - and then ignoring me completely to go and look at the sheep.... Nigel is setting about sorting him out this weekend to compensate for my lack of authority! His tail was going round like a windmill in this shot....
oh andy... one day eh.
