Sticking with the farm theme for the third consecutive day, I spotted these sheep and a couple of donkeys clustered around the feeding trough. I wanted to do something a bit different with this photo, though, and I played around with a number of different effects before settling on what you see here. In this shot, I was trying for an old newspaper effect. The background texture is sandstone, but in this case I was using it to imply the course grain of a faded newspaper. A gradient mask was added to a Gaussian blur layer in order to bring out a bit more depth of field than was evident in the original. Saturation and level adjustments were added, and finally a warming filter was used instead of the traditional sepia tone to add the faded impression.
