Smithfield Friends Meeting House

Rhode Island provided a home for many groups of Quakers seeking religious freedom in the 17th and 18th centuries. This meeting house of the Religious Society of Friends was founded in 1719. The original structure burnt in1881, however, and it was replaced by the building you see in today's photo. In the early 19th century, the Smithfield Friends Meeting joined the Guerneyite movement - an evangelical movement headed by Joseph John Gurney - and it remains a Guerneyite Meeting today.

For post processing, I opted to go black and white, although I took a rather scenic route to get there. After adjusting the image skew and cropping it slightly, I used a cool tone filter in Topaz Adjust to draw out some of the color. A powder blue gradient map in color blend mode was added and I adjusted the levels for contrast. A red photo filter then transformed the image into a black and white tone, and the levels were adjusted a second time. A sepia filter as the top layer completed the image.
Nice processing on this!
