At the Baa-Baa Shop!

Sorry, I just couldn't resist using that caption. This afternoon was Watson Farm's annual sheep shearing and I spent several hours photographing the historic property. The still-active 18th century farm is managed by Historic New England and is open to the public. Built in 1796, the farm still produces 100% grass fed beef, farm fresh eggs, and woolen articles for local markets. The current owners participate in several of the year-round farmer's markets that operate throughout the state. If you're planning to visit Rhode Island and would like to tour this beautiful example of early American farming, you can find the details on their website at http://www.historicnewengland.org/historic-properties/homes/watson-farm/watson-farm.

Post processing was minimal. I used a detail light filter in Topaz Adjust, and them made a very slight levels adjustment. When processing the raw file, I did add a fill light adjustment since the sheep being sheared was too much in shadow, and I also adjusted the white balance for daylight. The "as shot" setting was a bit too much to the cold side.
Great shot, looks like a neat place to visit!!
