Do I Want to Know?

I didn't have anything specific in mind today, and I was extremely pressed for time, so I headed to my favorite safety shot spot at the Barrington River Bridge. It turns out, there were a half-dozen small rowboats pulled up on shore, and in one of them was this rope tied in what resembled a makeshift noose. Now, as you may recall, I live in Rhode Island. The other colonies nicknamed us "Rogue's Island" for very good reason, so when you see this rope in the boat, I'm guessing anything's possible! I'm not sure I want to know. What I did find interesting was the pastel hues in the rope, and with a bit of imagination it's not hard to envision the brighter red spot on the knot as a bit of blood from the last victim. Again, I'm not sure I want to know. Rogue's Island, and all...

I liked the shot pretty much out of the camera. I did a simple pop in Topaz Adjust to sharpen the detail of the rope and the cracks in the boat finish, and then pulled the mid-tone levels just a bit for contrast. Other than that, this is as shot.
Simplicity at its best

I like the detail of the line, and the cracks in the boat's gel coat.
