In today's photo, a volunteer is carrying a large container of ice to a Poland Springs Water booth while setting up for a "Rally for Recovery" event in Providence. The event will be held at the Roger Williams National Memorial and will feature a number of local and national artists, musicians, and speakers. The "Rally for Recovery" events are sponsored by "Faces and Voices of Recovery", a national organization founded in 2001. The goals listed for the organization are to 1) Celebrate and honor recovery in all its diversity; 2) Foster advocacy skills in the tradition of American advocacy movements; and 3) Produce principles, language, strategy, and leadership to carry the movement forward. Now in its eleventh year, the program is still going strong nationwide.
Post processing today started in Topaz B&W Effects. I started with a classic filter and then made adjustments to the contrast, boost black, boost white, brightness, regions, adaptive exposure, strength and detail boost sliders. I also adjusted all of the color sensitivity sliders to produce the desired contrast and level of detail. In PSE, a slight levels adjustment was added, and a sepia photo filter was added as the top layer.
